Financial
support
A limited number of Young Scientists Awards will be granted to students
and scientists up to 30 years old (occasionally 35 years old).
Interested persons may apply by writing directly to us with
information on whether they wish to present any poster, and if so, what
would be its title, list of authors, affiliations and a short abstract.
A letter of support from the supervisor should be either attached or
sent independently by the supervisor.
What support is available?
IUCr sponsorship
- The IUCr (International Union of
Crystallography, http://www.iucr.org/)
sponsorship will be used to assist young scientists to attend the
School [young scientists are graduate students, post-graduate students
or post-doctoral fellows with a maximum age of 30 (exceptionally 35)].
Preference will be given to attendees who have a crystallographic
background. The IUCr intention is that the awards for young scientists
be used solely for travel and subsistence. Please note that recipients
of a young scientist grant are required to create an entry in the World
Database of Crystallographers: http://wdc.iucr.org(follow
the link to Create a new entry)
ECA bursary - The
ECA (European Crystallographic Assiciation, http://www.ecanews.org/
) funds will be used to support young scientists (under 35) from the
ECA “region”, with priority to less developed
countries.
EOARD grants - A
number of grants are available from funding
provided by the The
European Office of Aerospace Research & Development, http://www.london.af.mil.
The Conference Support Program (CSP) provides financial support to
technical conferences and workshops within EOARD's geographical area of
responsibility. EOARD's goals in providing this sponsorship are to
expand opportunities for the presentation and publication of
international research, and increase access to cutting-edge science and
technology by U.S. scientists. The program is customer oriented and
designed primarily to meet the needs and requests of the Air Force
Research Laboratory (AFRL). CSP funds are intended for support of
workshops, conferences or conference sessions that make a clear and
special contribution to the fulfillment of USAF/AFRL's international
liaison goals.
NMI3
-
Students and post-docs affiliated with Europe, but outside of Poland, can apply for support (travel and subsistence) from NMI3 funds (Integrated infrastructure Initiative for Neutron Scattering and Muon Spectroscopy) http://neutron.neutron-eu.net/n_nmi3/.
Interested persons may apply by writing directly to us school@alpha.uwb.edu.pl with information on whether they wish to present any poster, and if so, what would be its title, list of authors, affiliations and a short abstract. A letter of support from the supervisor should be either attached or sent independently by the supervisor. Neutron science or muon spectroscopy will be strongly preferred.
